History of the Company

Messeprojekt GmbH – founded in 1991 by Hartmut Bunsen – succeeded in breaking through onto the market when they concluded a service agreement with Leipziger Messe GmbH. The company started out selling standard basic models made out of system material, until in 1992 the setting up of a carpenters’ workshop meant that it now also became possible to offer stands in mixed construction or completely individual exhibition stands.

As a result of the rapid growth of the company, in 1996 the foundation stone was laid for the company’s new, modern site. Spacious warehousing and production facilities with an adjacent office suite sprang up within view of Leipzig Exhibition Centre. It was not long before the facilities had to be extended again in the year 2000. With the acquisition of an adjacent plot and the building of a new major complex of hall-type buildings, the available area for storage and production was almost doubled. The whole shop floor is now accommodated within the new buildings.

Today this area, equipped with the latest woodworking machinery and a large paintshop, forms the backbone of Messprojekt’s production line for everything from conventional exhibition stands to elaborate major projects. In 2003 Raimo Bunsen, who had been the company’s authorised officer since 2000, was appointed Second Managing Director and since that date has headed up the company alongside Hartmut Bunsen.

Today Messeprojekt is a corporate group with 160 employees and an annual turnover of over 24 million euros. Its operations are established worldwide and it handles innovative exhibition projects at all the major national and international exhibition centres.
